The development of modern science and knowledge requires cooperation beyond the borders of a single country. Internationalisation helps to fund universities, but also supports development students and scientists. It raises controversies and problems, which include competition for resources and brain drain. Internationalisation was the subject of a congress organised by the National Agency for Academic Exchange at the Medical University of Gdansk.
